Turn on iCloud sync in Kept on both devices using the same Apple Account. Once an item syncs, find it in Kept on the other device, copy it and paste it into the app where you need it. Your saved history lives in your own private iCloud, with a local copy on each synced device.
Sync is optional. Sensitive and local-only items stay on their capturing device by default; copies over 16 MB stay local at full quality. Delivery can take time, especially while your iPad is in the background.

Pin a frequently used reply, a reference link or an image you come back to. Pinned items stay in your history indefinitely, protected from automatic expiry and every purge.
You choose how long the rest stays. Regular items default to seven days since last use; sensitive items default to 24 hours. Adjust retention in Settings, and clear unpinned history whenever you want a fresh start.

Kept saves eligible copies while it runs. Open history, copy an item, then press Command–V in the app where you want it.
On your iPad
Return to Kept to save the current clipboard after allowing access, or use Save to Kept through Shortcuts. iPadOS does not allow continuous background clipboard monitoring.

A line of text, a link or an image copied on your iPhone can show up in Kept on your nearby Mac or iPad through Apple’s Universal Clipboard.
Use the same Apple Account with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Handoff enabled. On iPad, bring Kept forward and allow clipboard access to save the current copy. Copies overwritten before capture cannot be recovered.

With Apple’s Advanced Data Protection enabled, the CloudKit assets and encrypted fields Kept uses protect synced clipboard content with end-to-end encryption. Some service metadata remains outside that protection.
